hospitalCreditRequest: utilize the module on Macintosh/Unix/other non-Windows platforms

How can an application running on a non-Windows platform utilize the hospitalCreditRequest module?
Response by Dr. Rolf Eggenberger, TMR AG

No. The hospitalCreditRequest module is a plug-in component based on the Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) architecture. The infrastructure required by the module is not present in MacOS or Unix.

In principle, the module could run on a Windows 2000 or Windows NT machine, and could provide services to a remote client via the DCOM protocol. At this stage, however, we are unaware of any third-party DCOM libraries for non-Windows platforms. In the absence of such libraries, the only remaining solution would be for an applications developer to implement custom built DCOM-compliant RPC procedures. We have no plans to provide these.
